Asar 15 Ropain Festival in Nepal

Asar 15 also known as Ropain festival or Dahi Chiura Khane Din, is celebrated typically by farmers of Nepal.
The meaning of “Ropain” is rice plantation. Asar 15 is very famous to the farmers as this day earmarks the day; they plant new seedlings of rice crops of the years in their paddies. As you know well, Nepal is a country wholly based on agriculture. The month of Asar is important for paddy cultivation due to the rainy season. This month farmers use to be busy during the days for preparation and cultivation of rice. Rice is the major food for Nepali and other south Asian people. Many people in capital celebrate the day as the festival. They go to field, play with the muds and water, plant rice and eat the rice with yoghurt.
