The Indian business man has bought world’s most expensive shirts made with more than 3kg of 22 carat gold & worth $ 250,000. He is an extreme case of an Indian obsession with the precious metal. Datta Phuge nickname is ‘The Gold Man’. His name has been written in the Guinness Book of World Records for buying the world’s most expensive shirt.
Many people asked him why he is wearing so much gold, he said it was his dream. People have their own different aspirations. Some elite people want to own a Mercedes or Audi, and have big cars.
He told he chose gold. Given its impractical nature the shirt only gets an outing on special occasions like parties or important functions. It elicits a mixture of reactions said Phuge.
Some people are captivated. Others are contemptuous about what they regard as the extreme bling. Phuge always has his security guard, wherever he travels.
Datta is 32 years old moneylender; he recently hired a team of 15 goldsmiths to make his shiny golden shirt. It took nearly two weeks to make this shirt.
